JUST DON'T LET IT GO.....

• Turning out to be a hectic but a joyful day as MAKAR SANKRATI falling on Sunday this year, I spend an hour wrapping the TILGUL LADOOS artistically with colourful bows to send them to my friends and relatives.
  
• The Evening of this day is meant to fly kites with not only the kids but also the young and the oldies of our apartment complex.
• We all know that MAKAR SANKRATI is one of the most popular Hindu festival, predominantly a harvest festival celebrated throughout India from North to South and East to West. 
• It is also known as kite flying day. It is believed to be a time of peace and prosperity. 
• It is that time of the year when the kids from our complex drives us crazy whilst helping them to tie the kites to the strings
  
  .
• Though kite flying is an easy and exciting game, the art of tying the thread to kite is very energising. We use ordinary cotton threads in place of deadly manja to avoid hurting birds.
• Helping them, we join the  lovely nuts along with other grownups in the terrace to enjoy the game.
  
• Such a delight to see the colourful kites flying  in the sky amidst the setting sun!!!
• The real fun is to watch the competition between the kitefliers. 
• Celebrating this festival of MAKAR SANKRATI with lot of enthusiasm not only signifies the transit of Sun from one zodiac sign into another but also promotes a feeling of sense of unity among people.

• Standing alongside in the terrace and admiring the sunset,
• When I see colourful kites going high and high and sometimes swinging low till they almost seems to fall,
  
• I think...
• Our life is just like flying a kite, 
• at times we leave it loose, sometimes we hold on tight, 
• at times it flies easily, sometimes it flies with great effort, 
• making our way through to keep it afloat despite the fear of  fall and even if it does, taking still another one and flying it high again, when the wind will be in our favour, 
• 
  
• So don't loose hope and don't let it go!!!!
